In fact network marketing or multi-level marketing (MLM) is one of the most promising income opportunities in America today. Its an opportunity that has been tested and proven for more than 30 years, and today it represents a multi-billion dollar industry which is successfully providing income for hundreds of thousands of Americans from all walks of life.

Almost anyone who has a true desire to be successful can become so in MLM. Some of the biggest money earners have been relatively unsophisticated, non-business people. Some of the most successful distributors in the industry never even finished high school. And, most of today's successful distributors had little or no money for investment when they began.

Let me give you an example of how multi-level marketing might work for a fictional company selling a new super duper car polish. One application lasts for one year and it never fades or clouds up. This polish we will call Super Duper Sheen. It sells for $29.95.

It costs the company around $5.00 to make. This leaves $24.95 for company profit and commissions and bonuses to its distributors. Our polish company sells the product to its distributors for $19.95 plus shipping.

The distributor can sell it retail for $29.95 and pocket $10.00 in profit. In addition to retail profits, distributors can sign up other distributors. The company pays $2.00 to you for every sale your distributors make. If they recruit distributors, you make $2.00 on every sale those distributors make also. This fictional company pays commissions on distributors up to 6 levels deep. Lets take a look at the profits if everyone recruited 6 distributors and each distributor made 1 sale a month and each sale generates a $2.00 commission for up to 6 levels.

Your 6 distributors you recruited would earn for you: 6 x $2 = $12
Each distributor had 6 distributors under them (6 x 6 = 36) 36 x $2 = $72
Those 36 each have 6 distributors (6 x 36 = 216) 216 x $2 = $432
Those 216 each have 6 distributors (216 x 6 = 1,296) 1,296 x $2 = $2,592
Those 1,296 each have 6 distributors (1,296 x 6 = 7,776) 7,776 x $2 = $15,552
Those 7,776 each have 6 distributors (7,776 x 6 = 46,656) 46,656 x $2 = $93,312

Did those figures surprise you? You sell just 1 bottle of Super Duper polish yet you make over $100,000 that month. The company sells over 50,000 bottles of polish with no marketing costs, out of $29.95 it pays out $22.00 in bonuses and commissions. The company has a production cost of $5.00 a bottle so it makes almost $3.00 a bottle in profit. The company made over $150,000 that month in net profit!

With programs not unlike the one just described, people have gone on to become totally financially independent in five years or less and some of them have actually been able to completely retire in as few as 1 to 3 years. This industry is more than thirty years old and already distributes several billion dollars worth of goods and services every year. Yet, the vast majority of people don't even know what the terms "network marketing or MLM" mean. Because of the growth explosion that is now under way, experts say that the time to get started in a network marketing career has never been better than it is right now.

As an independent marketer, you have an unparalled opportunity to build a marketing organization by simply sharing the opportunity with a few committed people like you who are willing to go out and reproduce their effort by sharing the same opportunity with another generation level of equally committed people. As this process continues through four or five generation levels, you'll be earning commissions and bonuses from the efforts of everyone in your entire organization. This is why some people in the MLM industry today are earning as much as $10,000 to $100,000 per month. Do you know of any other income producing opportunity which offers this kind of opportunity?
